WP said...: Oh yeah, I saw this optical illusion not long ago...I stared at it for quite some time before figuring it out! (was already writing on my blog to ask people the answer...:P )

The thing is, the two triangles (red and green) have diagonal sides that aren't parallel. The two triangles have slightly different proportions. As a result, the first large triangle is concave whereas the second is convex.
