What is the main difference between slave and labour?
I wonder is there still slave in this 20th century?
I have a friend, let the name be A. A is a graduate from local university, while waiting for his employment, A work as a shop assistant where he feels he can gain experience for what he is going to be in future. Guess how much is the salary?
RM3.50-Rm4 per hour.
A works 6 days per week, 8 hours per day. Accumulation of the salary per month will be approx RM 800. The question is that is this kind of salary able to survive in places like KL where everything is expensive; price of petrol reach the peak recently, even some places, the price for a bowl of mee went up to RM5 (since last week).

Toiletries + house hold item :-RM50
Balance :RM0
Luckily still able to balance the account.....
This scenario only applied to those lucky one provided with a car,else don't even think of owning a second hand Kancil. Not to even mention about having your own house. Oh ya, how about stationary, clothes, trousers or shoes?
Not to be worry.
In fact, with 7 days working a week, you can buy those selling in night markets.

A: My boss says he needs more people to help out on this sunday, are you free?
Me: I have no appointment yet, doing what? How much is the pay?
A: Oh, we are doing stock check. They pay RM3.80/hour.
Me: Huh? RM3.80/hour???? Did you ask others?
A: Ya, I did ask my friend, they are not free.
Me: The salary is too low le, who will want to work? Only stupid people will accept the offer. (Sorry, I am not smart, and kinda stupid in times)
A: My bosses girlfriends and wife. Dun crap, want or dun wan, just say?
Me: If I work 8 hours there on sunday, I already use half of my salary to pay for petrol..Dun wan la.(My house is around 45 minutes from there)
A: Dun worry, I think we will work more than 8 hours as not enough people.
Me: ......
I nearly FAINT

ipoh's salary is like tat..
Oh, means Ipoh same as Selangor and Kuala Lumpur lo. But Malaysia currency already not high, everything increase, just salary no increase. I remember 5 years back seeing Mc Donald want hire ppl with salary Rm3.50/hour.(If not mistaken). Even some country like UK, they got limit for minimum wages to avoid labour exploitation. Thx for your comments. Looking forward for more comments to come.
The salary is quite low, if got allowances on petrol and meals, that will be different of story...
it's extremely low..since what also he is also a graduate...perhaps he should try for other better opportunities if there is one..

In London average salary is around £5/hr but u can get a whole chicken selling at the supermart at about £3 to £4. More survivable..
Living in one of world's most expensive city is not too bad after all. =P

well, bout this topic, err...actually, i'm also a part-timer , or should i say WAS a part-timer before... And my salary is RM3 per hour, on holiday double paid RM6.. Ok,this is in Sabah, KK, the most populated city in Sabah(the so-called city...)..and RM3 is the highest so far, i haven't seen any higher than this.. For Warisan Square i'm not sure cuz never go ask since start school.. So, my point is, you guys in West Malaysia actually is quite, good already, ya la.. considering the petrol oil, but, for us, its a nice amount~

Wah nowsday where got RM3.50-RM4/hour? infact this salary similar 2 what i get past 10 years ago when i work as part promoter in supermarket.... even now the salary also between RM4-RM4.80 if i no mistaken lor.... Ur fren kinda funny lor.... How can survivors leh? curious nia :P

sometime,when you earn more, you tend to spend more. Its depend on people whether the pay is high or low. However, RM800 a month in KL is extremely low. My point above is the point to sufficient income but some will think stll not enough.
When you have RM1500 a month you will find it not enough but you will still find it not enough when you have RM2000. Its all depend on your spending pattern.
If you monthly income is RM2000 and you spend like a RM20000 earner. Well, you may guess the consequences.
As for your friend. How can he accept this kind of pay in this area.I wonder how is going to support himself,family and so on?
Money is not all but it has to be sufficient....
RM 3.80 per hour is vy normal rate. But it's not a work for a graduate pls. In KL, now fresh grad can get RM2200 to RM2800 as starting pay d.

err...most of you guys pointing out that fresh grad uni student SHOULD get paid at base RM2200++ something like that... Well, yea, it sure SHOULD be in this way.. However, don't forget that the ratio of degree students to SPM/STPM(or any equivalent certs) to Honour Degree/Master(or any equivalent or above certs) is 6 : 1 : 3 roughly.. i.e. there got a whole bunch of Degrees out there... So, if wanna get a good salary, you might wanna start asking yourself: show them what I got

that is way toooo cheap. 1USD/hour?? cuci pinggan kat US also got 10USD/ hour o ..for malaysia, it should be around 3USD/hour, then its considered reasonable...
